As I prepped my turkey, I remembered your post. No time for brining (these were last-minute plans), but I did think to try to prep my bird with a bit of brown sugar, something I'd never done before. If you use it, I figure it ought to work...

The turkey was good. The gravy was AMAZING! The brown sugar did something miraculous!

My gratitude list includes your inspired cooking...Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03119943581970095780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20010538.post-47334115477093048712007-11-21T11:23:00.000-05:002007-11-21T11:23:00.000-05:00For me, Thanksgiving just doesn't ever seem quite ...For me, Thanksgiving just doesn't ever seem quite the same here in the Southwest either.

Having the ability to lay beside a pool in 80+ degree weather just doesn't seem right at Thanksgiving.

But, when you're surrounded by and have been bless with good food, pleasant circumstances, and great friends, I enjoy the holiday season just the same.

It's not Home, but it's close enough for now.Sethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14509714224248852734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20010538.post-5715928501383626522007-11-21T09:19:00.000-05:002007-11-21T09:19:00.000-05:00As an old friend from FCC Winchester who has silen...As an old friend from FCC Winchester who has silently and faithfully followed your blog for more than a year, I wish you and Ginger all the best in your new adventure. I am grateful to have known you both in person and even better through your words here. Massachusetts won't be the same without you, but I know you both will find joy in any setting as long as you have each other. Have a blessed and delicious Thanksgiving!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20010538.post-6877945163696784332007-11-21T08:28:00.000-05:002007-11-21T08:28:00.000-05:00This post remeinds me of all those things I left b...This post remeinds me of all those things I left behind in Michigan as I move south. The snow, the cold winds from the lake and the low hanging clouds i the skies were all things I missed as the holidays rolled around...and still do. I have them inside, but they aren't real enough to touch any more.

But I have so much here in the South, wife, children, vocation and plenty of friends. Things are different, but they are also strangely the same. Love is the same no matter where it is found.

Thanks for a great post and I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving.Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10235511328970565339noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20010538.post-75835984850812749652007-11-21T07:19:00.001-05:002007-11-21T07:19:00.001-05:00Oh, and congrats for being selected for CCBlogs!Oh, and congrats for being selected for CCBlogs!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20010538.post-83489955058895196162007-11-21T07:19:00.000-05:002007-11-21T07:19:00.000-05:00Makes me consider my circumstances as the brining ...Makes me consider my circumstances as the brining of the spirit...

Great thoughts for this holiday. There was a moment at about 10am which would have been just right for taking a picture of the family for your Christmas card, but now it's all melted.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20010538.post-15805790618631261062007-11-20T19:59:00.000-05:002007-11-20T19:59:00.000-05:00(o)Have a blessed Thanksgiving.(o)

Have a blessed Thanksgiving.zorrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00301856272073306968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20010538.post-61070641761306379502007-11-20T16:08:00.000-05:002007-11-20T16:08:00.000-05:00Transitions are hard.
