More than a few times while reading your blog, I've thought that you ought to try out for the show. :)

Jennifer G.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20010538.post-43579134315538254052009-02-03T09:53:00.000-05:002009-02-03T09:53:00.000-05:00This week I entrusted our power point show for wor...This week I entrusted our power point show for worship to a student I believed would do it well. He showed up twenty minutes after worship started, stammering an apology about how he had set his alarm for 11:15 instead of 10:15 and thus missed the first part of worship.

The choice we all had was to be angry or to realize we've all made the same mistake. We chose the gracious response, and I'm thankful, because now this student knows he'll be allowed enough room to make mistakes (and maybe that gives him enough room to experiment a little bit).

Also, it occurs to me: other than a college student, who sets their alarm for 11:15? This is a problem most churches don't have. :-)Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00157331552693781962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20010538.post-78044598831148671132009-02-03T09:07:00.000-05:002009-02-03T09:07:00.000-05:00I love the idea that Calvinism leaves no room for ...I love the idea that Calvinism leaves no room for inspiration and greatness - I believe that whole heartedly.

My first thought for chef #2 was that he needs better stories. Somewhere along the road he has stopped believing that it could be better. My therapist is teaching me to reframe things. To take the same circumstances but view them through a different lens. It's amazing how much this simple tool changes things for me. So much of life is what I make of it.

Great thoughts Milton!Heidi Reneehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01769414906479026143noreply@blogger.com
