advent journal: words with john

John Lennon was killed thirty years ago today.

(I know, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.)

Here is the poem I found digging through his words tonight.

there are places I remember
all my life though some have changed
hold on world, world hold on

I feel sorrow, oh I feel dreams
everything is clear in my heart

love is the answer and you know that for sure
love is a flower you got to let it grow
all we are saying is give peace a chance

why in the world are we here
surely not to live in pain and fear
