allergiesPeace,
as best I understand
the reason my eyes
are red and puffy
and my nose stuffy
is my body is trying
to protect me from
bad things in the air
a knee-jerk response
shutting down my
air ways and blurring
my vision as a way
of keeping me safe
and I wonder how
else in my life I am
rushing to judgment
slamming my heart
shut and leaving me
unable to breathe
deep the breath of God
