wise ones
Christmas was gone
before they got
to the manger,
with entourage
“We saw his star in the east,” they said.
Mary wondered why
a sign from God
didn’t get them
there on time
“You missed the angel choir,” she said.
Nevertheless they
knelt before the babe,
offering gifts and
hopeful hearts
“What matters is we made it,” they said.
Peace,
Milton

Not that it matters much, but Matthew 2:11 says, "And when they were come into THE HOUSE, they saw the young child with Mary his mother,...)
Obviously the inn-keeper, or more probably his wife, decided that it just wasn't kosher, (if you will forgive the pun,) to allow the young family to remain in the manger.

Oh, that's wonderful.
May we use it in church this Epiphany?
Blessings, Heather
You're right, angel choirs are uplifting but not essential to what matters. That's faith.

You're welcome to use the poem; just please let people know where you got it.
Peace

Yes, but to this day men are rarely invited to baby showers because they tend to bring inappropriate gifts.
